Also, I noticed the cab for VVM was at 1.1.9 now.
Relocking is not necessary..l. I just installed it. However it did error the first time and I think it's because I moved the cable. I just manually entered bootloader and ran it from there.....then flashed to custom 6.5 with no additional unlocking..etc...

So are there any benefits to updating if we are just flashing right back to a custom ROM? Is it true a new radio accompanies the update? I'm downloading now, just wondering if I should update. (I don't/won't use VVM or Voice Command)

Yes the radio accompanies the update.... I used the new ROM for half a day or so just to test it out, then went right back to my 6.5. I'm going to be changing radios back too bc the new one sucked me dry in no time.

If you already have GPS unlocked, is this official unlocking any better/necessary? Or does it basically do what bored has already done?

GPS locks are quick with the new stock ROM and radio. I just think the battery management stinks... For me the reason was to get a working version of Voice Command, other than that I was much happier on the configuration noted in my sig.
