It appears they cab may have corrected some of my issues . I got a text form a friend two minutes after they sent it. Not gets them in a min or less.

It may be premature to celebrate, but switching to the latest Verizon radio V 1.03.09 has seemingly helped my phone's reliability a lot. I'm getting texts with far less delay, calls and VMs too so far. It seems the problem on my phone was tied into being in a very weak reception area - as soon as I went somewhere with 4-5 bars it would stop. The Sprint radios, even the newer ones, just weren't good at locking into the nearest towers' signal. The Verizon is much better. Over time this may not hold up but for now, I'm much happier and would recommend others try alternate radios too.
