Any fix for Alltel tp pic messages?
 

Has there been a fix made for the pic message problem on flashed roms for alltel tp phone. Fashed my phone With Mighty ROM 5 and really like it but i don't like not being able to send or recive pic messages. looked around and could not find a fix yet wanted to know if anyone else knows where one is at.

Install this carrier cab then soft reset
Then install this Arcsoft cab and soft reset
Then it will work.

what problem are you refering to? Just install the alltel arcsoft cab in post #5 of his thread. then change the "connect via" to "the internet" in the mms server settings and it works everytime. i've never had to install the carrier cab.

That way works also but if you install the carrier cab first it will automatically set it to connect via "Alltel Wireless" and you dont have to change anything

Ran the carrier cab and all is good now thanks for the help. i now have nothing to complain about with this phone and hte new Rom. also good to see not he only one from Hicksville MO cruisin this site.

this "fix" i found was always making sure the connection was always named "Alltel Wireless/AlltelWireless" and then use

Server Name: Alltel MMSC
Gateway: mms.alltel.com
Port Number:8080
Server Address: http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
Connection via: Alltel Wireless

i run Arcsoft 5.0.82.79 just fine sending and receiving pics with no problems.

If you do what I say in post #2 it sets up everything just like this, its just a different version of arcsoft.
I would actually like to find a cab for the Version Conflipper used in his 11-28 Diamond ROM.

Dont know whats up with that it always works for me ,never had to change any settings but this is what they should be in pics/video options:

server name: Altell MMSC
gateway :mms.alltel.com
port :8080
server address:http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
connect via: Altell Wireless

Do the mssgs you try to send show up in the outbox folder?

ya there in there with a little error icon on them.
whats your send limit set to?
mines 950k. Other than that its all the same

iv tried it via the internet and alltel wireless.
With soft resets after the changes.
I wonder if it may not be due to installing and uninstalling the other version first??

:headbang:I unfortunately have a tp from alltel, and i had the same problem with mms. I have flashed every rom i can find on here searching for the perfect one, and the mms fix i found works on every custom rom i have flashed.

1. Install the arcsoft alltel mms cab file version 5.0.69.44 that can be found attached to all of mightymikes rom posts.

2. Soft reset your device.

3. Tap your messagiung icon tin tf3d and select the left soft key for "all messages".

4. Select Menu>Pics/Video Options>Servers.

5. With your stylus tap on Alltel MMSC.

Settings you see should be as follows:

Server Name: Alltel MMSC
Gateway: mms.alltel.com
Port: 8080
Server address: http://mms-mt.alltel.net/servlets/mms
Connect via: Sprint, Alltel or "The Internet"
Send limit: Max

As i said, i flash at least ten times a week and this has worked on every rom both 6.1 and 6.5

How do I remove the old version? I'm assuming that's why I'm getting an insufficient privilages error when I try installing one of these versions

Just curious why you want to remove the one currently installed? If you want to remove it and it's not listed in your Remove Programs list, then just run this cab http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...9&d=1237565795

You think it not working on mine has anything to do with it being a Diamond and you guys have TP's?
Im outta ideas on 5.0.71.33 .
I like the stock looking mms
I would LOVE one set up like my Vogue was with TF2D
The mms showed up under the email tab instead of mixed in with the sms. but iv never seen anything like that on TF3D
mms and sms was completly seperate.

So, you can get mms to work fine with other versions, right? You just can't get it to work with 5.0.71.33?

I don't think it has anything to do with it being on the diamond. Did you use the arcsoft removal cab i gave a link for earlier, prior to installing it? I haven't tried that 71 version, so i don't know what's up with it.

Have you tried to use LennySH's Alltel Arcsoft 5.0.71.33R3? It's on his website if you want to try it. I'd give you a link but i'm on a military base right now and his site is blocked for some odd reason.

You're welcome bro. yea...that was back when i didn't know much and I had just got the diamond. Only had it for 3 weeks then switched to the pro.

Sometimes it's hard to find help with cricket problems because it's not as popular as sprint or the others, but there is a small community of cricket users on ppcgeeks and they are very helpful along with everyone else.

I got mine working from MightyMike5 thread for the MMS and sms160 character limit, and DCD carrier cab.

Got it set up just the way I want now! I found a thread where Razor said this

" For the heck of it I wanted to try something, so I installed the new LennySh ArcSoft 5.0.71.33R3 Alltel.cab availalable at the above link then uninstalled the old LennySh_Alltel_Arcsoft_3.0.26.12c.cab and it's working perfect with the new arcsoft now."

So I thougt Id try it out but after installing the old version, I decided I would just keep it. It logs the MMS under my email tab and creates an entire Pics/Video section seperate from SMS instead of having one section labeled SMS/MMS
This ones set up just like my Vogue was and I like it much better.

I don't want to...just thought that's why I was getting the permissions error. Why would I be getting the error then? Tried two different versions, and got the error. Downloading another version and will try it.

What i meant was, why are you wanting to remove the old one? What's wrong with it? Are you on the stock rom, or who's?

I'm having issues w/ my pics text to me so I'm trying to find another version.
The pics come in super small. No matter who sends what to me.
I'm running the RSTG Rom.

Try what I said in post 32 It works good on my buddies Alltel Touch Pro. He didnt even uninstall the 5.0.69 one
