Re: To Pre or not to Pre?
Don't get me wrong, I love my Touch Pro. I don't think the Pre's lack of hacking potential is a bad thing if its a solid UI to begin with. Windows Mobile, you pretty much need to hack the hell out of it to make it an enjoyable experience. Out of the box, Windows Mobile pretty much sucks, even with TouchFlo3D.

Re: To Pre or not to Pre?
I went and checked out the Pre today and while I was impressed with the features, I didn't bite. I love the software that we currently can get with WM and that keyboard was WAY too small... I tried typing and made tons of typos with it.

Oh...and the first major issue I have is I'd have to kill my $30 SERO plan to go to the Pre. Not touching my account with three $30 SERO's on it. |

Re: To Pre or not to Pre?
The UI of the pre looks nice. But... there's no way I could get by with it. wmwifirouter, garmin XT and my dirt cheap talk/data plan are huge reasons why the TP is a perfect fit for me.
I'm a techie, I have no problem fixing a few WM issues via hacks and I can put up with the occasional lockups and hickups. The pre is the phone I'd recommend to a non-techie though. |
