Re: Why would I want to update my radio?
I updated my radio because I was losing calls at home and on the road. The update fixed the problem.
No, there should be no problems with radio and ROM. But I can't say that there never will be problems with it. |

Re: Why would I want to update my radio?
you hope to accomplish getting a better signal...faster data speeds... and better battery life. youi could experience all these thing if you update also it does not conflict with a custom or stock rom when you change the radio because updating a radio does not hard reset the phone. if i were you i'd try some different radios and see which one i like best. some of the popular ones are the sprint 1.11 and the telus as well as the us celluar. check out this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616

Re: Why would I want to update my radio?
i didn't want my phone heating up to the point that it couldn't charge while i was on a call, so i flashed to the telus radio? well actually, i was hoping for *something* to change, and it did.

Re: Why would I want to update my radio?
So I just flashed using the Telus radio and now every time I try to turn on my Data Connection in the connection manager, it just vibrates and brings me to the Connections Settings screen.

Re: Why would I want to update my radio?
Okay, sorry about that. It looks like I had to change my connection authentication. I guess having a different radio messes with Verizon's network a bit. Just having #777 in there wasn't working. Then having vzw as the username and the last four digits of my phone number as the pass didn't work. So, I had to go back to the old style of using <phonenumber>@vzw3g.com as the username and vzw as the pass. Now I can connect.
