I did a Google search for just this reason. I hate buying iTunes music, and having to use an iPod to play it. If I bought the song legally, I should be able to use whatever format I want to play it. The Google search I did was 'mp4 mp3 converter' and I found this neat little program called mp4 to mp3 converter. I have it on my Desktop (which is down at the moment) so I can't get the exact information for it, but it cost about $30.00 1 time fee, and it works great! Whenever I buy music from iTunes, I always convert it immediately to an mp3 format. Love it! When my computer is up again, I will continue this post and add the cab, but it wont work unless you pay for the license. Good Luck!

Re: Playing Itunes downloaded songs
Interesting, why hasnt apple come out with a free version. I hate paying for 3rd party software. Plus 38 dollars is a bit steep.
Anyone know another alternative? Thanks for the info. |

Try Kinoma... It handles iTunes just fine... Go here for more info... And instead of paying full price, just use Trial Pay like I did... Got it for free... Trust me... It is an awesome Media Player... It handles...

Re: Playing Itunes downloaded songs
Neither of those apps will support protected M4P files, which is likely what the OP is looking for.

Re: Playing Itunes downloaded songs
Dont plan on playing an itunes protected song through anything other than itunes or an iphone/ipod.
However, there are certain steps you can take to strip the DRM from those songs, and do whatever you want with what you legal own. That, or just download the songs you legally own a license for somewhere else. DOWN WITH DRM! |
