Core player help

Ok I have coreplayer and put a .MKV file on my phone but every time I try to play it i get the error message "Player" video codec (AVC aka H.264) not supported by the player.

What does this mean and can I fix it?

what is the video size of the file you're attempting to play?

1.8 gigs. its a .mkv movie

nto that, here is an example of a movie i have

Video: AVC aka H.264
Codec: CoreAVC
Video Size: 1280*720
Frame rate: 23.976
