To be honest, you could always try bringing it in for service without bringing it back to stock. The charging port is a daughterboard, easily replacable. Just run your battery down to 0 before you bring it in, so it won't turn on at all, and you shouldn't even get questioned.

Did it go out from usinf fast charge? just curious as I use fast charge..but my touch pro isnt covered under any warranty so i wanna disable fast charge if its causeing usb ports to go out.

i was using mightyrom r3born, then i flashed the stock alltel dumped rom, relocked using the method i posted, hard reset then took it in the store. glad i was able to too because they checked my bootloader at the alltel store and told me they were just "checking the status of my software waranty"

if its sprint i just had mine replaced today. its says security unlock on the new one too. i have a fresh new htc touch pro now =)

my stupid usb stopped working today as well, it works with the weird shaped HTC one, but not any regular mini usb cables as it did until today. this also happened with my mogul, and they said they couldn't fix it, i had to go through asurion which just sucks, i pay for the higher end insurance which costs me money to replace the unit and is harder to get fixed, i hate it.

The mini USB connector on my TP is breaking. You can see part of it loose. Sprint store said I need to deal with Asurion. Is that considered physical damage. Should I try different Sprint store. Still charges, but for how long is the question.

Try another Sprint store. A cracked port will be rejected for physical damage every time under the new rules. One that simply does not function should be repaired or replaced.

mine isn't cracked, but when this happened on my mogul, they said i had to go through asurion, which sux since it's $100 to replace this phone now. although, mine looks entirely intact, maybe i should just go there and see what they say.
