Alltel Touch Pro to Verizon, please help.

The problem is you have to have an active altell account before Verizon will activate it on their systems.
Just having an altell branded phone is not enough.

From what I can tell, Verizon is only adding active altell ESN numbers to their system so they continue to work.

Can anyone confirm this for the Alltel Touch Pro? Has anyone who had service with Alltel who was converted to VZW with the Alltel Touch Pro get to keep the Alltel TP and it work? I don't think so. Maybe their dumbphones, but I doubt they can do it for the PDAs without software updates/patches. I would be really interested in this since I have an Alltel Touch Pro on VZW.

I don't understand the question. Are you asking if any Touch Pro users that were on alltel still using the same Touch Pro on Verizon? If so then I am. With the exception of the weird text messaging problem today and tonight (verizon forums show it's a common today) it's been fine and working. When my touch pro keyboard died earlier in the week verizon sent me an alltel replacement. Verizon box and everything. Just alltel phone.

Do your MIP settings still say "....alltel.net"?

I have an Alltel TP and was converted to VZW and got to keep my Alltel TP. In fact, I had to get a replacement and was sent an Alltel TP and it works.

Only problem is text msg sometimes does not go through on SAT and SUN.

I guess this is when they are working on the system.

My keyboard crapped out yesterday, I am under warranty and went to Verizon. My new phone (or refurb?) will be here tomorrow. It had better be the 288 meg Alltel version and not the 128meg VZW version.

Not the case with my phone. I had it activated on my alltel account and they still are unwilling to add the esn to thier database
