Did Verizon block my instant messaging ports?

I've been using Palringo for months and all of a sudden I can't sign on to any chat service anymore. At first I thought it was just Palringo so I downloaded OZ messenger a few minutes ago. Guess what?? Same error. The programs no longer find a data connection but I'm 100% sure that I have a data connection because everything else (email, web browsing, RSS and etc) works fine.

Palringo won't connect to my AIM accounts, but works fine to Facebook right now. AOL may be changing some things up...

I agree, I think it has something to do with AOL's end .. I have some other 3rd Party Software that is having trouble connecting to AOL.

i just fired up palringo and had no trouble connecting or sending/recieving message. i dont however use aol so that confirms what these guys were saying above

But this happens on Yahoo. I'm thinking I may need to hard reset

Hard resetting didn't work. No chat programs will work on a clean stock phone. Is it possible Verizon did something to block chat on my account?

Hmm, I haven't verified this but someone else told me the same thing with their Verizon account.
