Re: Well, I've screwed up my Pro...
were you running a custom rom on the old and new phone? as far as restoring messages, id use pim back up....im not too familiar with the htc backup utility.
for future reference, royally screwed up on this site usually means you just turned your phone into a paperweight, and it is totally unusable...you just messed up the contacts/messages, we have all done it....

Re: Well, I've screwed up my Pro...
I was running the sprint cleanup cab on both of them. The new phone doesn't have any programs listed anymore when I go into the programs menu, only windows icons. The only thing the phone will show is the contacts. I was going to post on here about how to backup all my msgs and transfer them to a new phone, but decided to do my homework and backup then restore. After clicking the retore the light just blinked randomly every few seconds as it was being charged and the phone locked up on me. Upon reboot all the colors were different, a few of the cabs I had installed showed up as running but thats as far as it goes.

Re: Well, I've screwed up my Pro...
well, found out all my msgs are on the new phone though they won't show up on the msg tab (only seen in the all messages). None of the programs appear and the error is given that none of the shortcuts could be located. The weather doesn't work, and there's a white box in the upper left hand corner that won't go away.
Guess I'm needing to reinstall? |

Re: Well, I've screwed up my Pro...
If the programs did get installed, then just create short cuts of the application file and move those short cuts to the Windows start folder.

Re: Well, I've screwed up my Pro...
create shortcuts out of the application file? Well, I can't open anything, even clicking on the all programs just pulls up a blank screen. clicking the start menu pulls up nothing. I'm unable to get to the windows explorer even.

Re: Well, I've screwed up my Pro...
Ok, thank you! Does anybody know how to get all text and pic msgs from an old phone to a new one?
