Why is life so hard with the touch Pro???

I must be a freaking tard. I have been unable to do anything with this phone. I am trying to flash it, add mightyrom, and get my backlight to stay on as long as my phone is open. Why can't I get anything to work. I can't even get my phone to activesync with the computer. Can someone please please please help me? I am really bad with the computer talk so try to explain details if you decide to help me. Also, I have already tried to search the forums but, can't find what I need.

Re: Why is life so hard with the touch Pro???

I've seen this member's similar question in another post. He has been given these intructions before. I'm affraid what this member needs is sommeone to walk him through every step which unfortunatley is very difficult and time consuming, especialy if it's being done over the PC.

I feel for him but if he is not confortable enough with PC's and PC lingo this may turn out to have been to much phone for him, at least on the Flashing front.

Re: Why is life so hard with the touch Pro???

I see you've been on this site less than a month. There's no way, in that amount of time, that you could have completely researched your device and it's limitations, as well as completely comprehended the process of flashing a new ROM and the inherent hazards. What are you expecting of mightyrom and are you aware of what it can and can't do? Unless you understand and follow the flashing process to a T, you can, and likely will, brick your device. In plain English, you just turned a cool new PPC into a cool new paperweight.

It seems a lot of noobs are in a great hurry to flash their devices before really getting to know them. WHY??

I do agree with your comments. But i think some people who are fairly new to these devices need/want reassurance that they're doing the right thing. I know when i got my first ppc (6700 apache) i read this forum for months before posting. And even after all my research and learning, i still had a ton of questions and concerns. For me, it was trial and error, and thank god for the great members on this site who took the time to help me/us out. It can be a scary thing to start a thread here asking for help. Instead of telling new members to search, search, and search some more (which they should all do) i just send a pm to the individual welcoming the aboard and pointing them in the right direction. Like i said, i agree 100% with what you wrote, i just think we all need to understand that most of us were really confused here at some point also.
