Easiest way to make a separate wallpaper for landscape mode?

Of if not, can I, by editing a setting or the registry, set the today screen to stretch the wallpaper into the correct size instead of tile it?

Re: Easiest way to make a separate wallpaper for landscape mode?

i think the trick is to use a picture that is sized for the landscape.. ofcourse the pic will be cut down on the edges in portrait.

Do what they do for the kitchen splashes... Just make a pic that is 640x640...

When picking the pic for Landscape it will let you pick what part of the screen to use... The same for landscape.

You're using WM6.5, aren't you.

The solution is the 640x640 trick. I noticed the tiling yesterday and it bothered me a bit. Oh well, I hate landscape mode anyways

Re: Easiest way to make a separate wallpaper for landscape mode?

I wish it would let you choose what part of the picture to use. Unless I'm doing it wrong.

I'm selecting the image in file explorer and choosing set as today background.

It either tiles from the top left if the image is too small or trims evenly on any dimensions that are too big, trimming the top and bottom evenly if the height is more than 640 for portrait or 480 for landscape.

Is there a better way to set a picture as the today background?

Oh and this is wm6.1

Re: Easiest way to make a separate wallpaper for landscape mode?

If it's WM6.1, you can create a custom theme that specifies a separate image for landscape.

Here's a good thread to check out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371477

Re: Easiest way to make a separate wallpaper for landscape mode?

WM 6.1 and 6.5 have worked this way for me in the past.

Go to pictures and video with the device in portrait mode. Pic a pic u want for the portrait orientation. set it... now put the phone in landscape pic your landscape pic... To do this when u see an image u want hold down on it till the menu pops up scroll to set as today background (wallpaper Not sure what it says).

I know this works in 6.5 as i have 2 separate images and that's how i did it without a custom theme.

Re: Easiest way to make a separate wallpaper for landscape mode?

what i've done in the past is to take the .tsk theme file and unzip it (with winrar) to a folder on your pc then find out what files are the two (landscape and portait) wallpapers. then take your two wallpapers, change them to the name of the ones in the tsk and overwrite the original two.
then use a program called "makev3" to make a cab file with all the files in it... then just rename it from .cab to .tsk then put it back in your windows folder.... now you have a theme with your custom wallpapers
