Re: WMWifiRouter/iNetSharing on Verizon
I use VZW and purchased WMWifirouter like 2 months ago and love it. I haven't seen any charges, in fact I actually spoke with customer service last month before my bill hit and cleverly disguised the fact that I wanted to ensure no charges would hit. After a month of using WMWifirouter and downloading tons of crap, she looked at my bill and confirmed that she saw no tethering data at all. So I can confirm that it does not charge you for tethering. Just don't tell them you're tethering, don't run up a ridiculous amount of data. IE don't torrent off of it. I hit about 7 GB of data last month and had no additional charges.
As a side note, I've been torrenting *on* the phone using WMTorrent, and racked up about 20GB of data usage this month, without tethering. Kinda curious what will happen |

Re: WMWifiRouter/iNetSharing on Verizon
Have you noticed that when using WMWifiRouter (I'm using 1.35 , the newest version) that when you have the phone attached to the wall charger that it doesn't indicate that the phone is charging? Granted, the battery meter doesn't drop, but, am I correct in assuming this is because the battery is discharging at pretty much the same rate as what it is charging? I am on a known good charger but the charging icon doesn't display either.

Re: WMWifiRouter/iNetSharing on Verizon
I've racked up well over 20GB on my Blackberry before (Verizon Curve, tethered using Tetherberry) and have had nothing charged. Even asked them if I can stream videos and music on my phone and if there were any limits, they said that since the release of the Storm and the main target of the Storm being iPhone type users, Verizon has gotten pretty lax about bandwidth usages. On the bright side, they're upgrading all their towers (at least in average+ population cities) to fiber (rather than T1). My areas been upgraded, pulling near 2.3Mb/s everywhere I go. Before I was around 400Kb/s during the day, 1.2Mb/s at night.

Re: WMWifiRouter/iNetSharing on Verizon
I have been using WMwifirouter on VZ for over a year (a Verizon tech actually recommended it to me)
I had it in my old Titan/Mogul setups & now in my TouchPro's. I have never seen any extra data charges. I use WMwifi everyday to tether my ipod touch (I MUCH prefer the touch & safari to any of the WM browser setups) although I definitely don't use absurd amounts of data like some people here seem to. ~John |

There's built in temp monitors inside of WMWifi that will actually let you see how hot the phone is, and this is why they included them. A few things I do to help with the heat/battery issue are: 1. Make sure the phone is in the open, or well ventilated area 2. Open the slider keyboard (helps dissipate heat better) 3. Turn off the screen to prevent that draining the battery, and to help with heat. 4. If possible, shut down any other running programs on the phone (to conserve battery). I actually read a post by a long time WMWifi user that said he has a minifridge where he uses his phone at, and he actually sticks the phone in the little freezer tray section of the minifridge to keep it charging, Lol. I do *not* recommend this however. |
