Flip phone face down mute call. Is there anyway to change the light threshold?

I flip the phone over and unless the screen is completly covered it doesnt work. If the screen is blacked out it works perfectly. But it takes a second or so to mute.

So basicly can I make the light threshold more sensitive.
Also it would be great to speed up the mute option. Possibly mute it automaticly.

Thanks, agian guys.

I dk about this mine mutes pretty quick on the sprint stock rom, I think it actually might be the g-sensor used for this and not the light sensor but im not positive though.

Re: Flip phone face down mute call. Is there anyway to change the light threshold?

My phone doesn't do that, and I'm not sure how you are doing it. I now it can be done with gyrator, but that's it.

In any case, it's easy to figure out how it works. Cover make a test call to voicemail or sprint. cover the light sensor for a few seconds (that rectangular box just above the screen left of the sprint word and icon. If that doesn't mute it, then hold the phone upside down in the air. One of the two should mute it.

You can shorten the speed at which both the gsensor and the light sensor with advanced configuration. My gsensor is polling every 200 ms, and light sensor every 1000 ms. My guess, from what you were saying, is that it's the light sensor for the mute call because it's a bit slower.

So if it is the light sensor, then use advanced config to adjust the threshold and/or polling frequency.

Re: Flip phone face down mute call. Is there anyway to change the light threshold?

It's the g-sensor only.

I've flipped mine face down in the air in my car and it's muted the call before. I noticed it was pretty slow on the stock ROM, it took a second.

It still takes about a second and a half on Juicy's ROM but this is just so when you're picking it up, if it doesn't end up face down, it doesn't mute immediately.

Thats makes sense because when I pressed it against my shirt to hide the light nothing was going on. So now that I know it just needs to be leveled out upside down this app should work wonders

I have both polling at 200ms already but the issue was the way I was holding the phone thinking it was the light sensor. I was pretty sure it wasnt the light sensor though. So then I would try just fliping the phone around. The problem was I wasnt fliping the phone around and having it lay flat or level for the G sensor to recognize what I was doing. I would just flip it around and face my chest or pants.. Seems so simple now!

Re: Flip phone face down mute call. Is there anyway to change the light threshold?

I'm on MightyROM 4.16 and I noticed that mine takes noticeable longer to mute than it did on the stock ROM. On the stock ROM, it would mute almost as soon as I turned it over, but with MightyROM, it still rings for a few seconds after I've turned it over. Any suggestions?

Edit: Nevermind, changing the G-sensor polling interval to 200ms with Advanced Config worked for me. It mutes almost instantly now. Opera seems to rotate a bit quicker too.

Any idea how much decreasing the G-sensor interval would affect battery life?

Re: Flip phone face down mute call. Is there anyway to change the light threshold?

A polling interval of 200 really shouldn't hurt it too much because it's only going to cause drain while you're using the device, not while it's in standby. If you flip your phone around a lot and want the screen to rotate fast, you'll probably get a bit more enjoyment out of the faster rate, even if it does cost a tiny bit more battery power.
