[Car audio] Car charging Touch Pro while using audio out cable?

Just got my Touch Pro (wow!) and want to plug it into my car stereo (1/8" jack) while simultaneously charging from the cigarette lighter. Is there a simple, non-bulky aftermarket cable for this purpose?

hey man, you have sprint, so you should have gotten the 4-in-1 adapter right? that has the 1/8" jack and usb charger jack on it. For my car, I bought from Proclip. Got the mount with the dongle built it. I also bought a cigarette lighter usb adapter and plug my phone into that, and from the mount into my aux in on my radio.

Does that help at all?

Thanks for the reply... I guess I was imagining something a little more streamlined, without the big lump in the cord - maybe just a Y-cord kind of design (one cable goes to the cigarette lighter, another goes to a 1/8" audio plug?)

the HTC Touch came with a Y-cord like i believe ur looking for. stop by ur local sprint store n see if they might have an extra lying around. if not, ebay is ur friend

Afterthought: is the 1/8" the same as 3.25mm or 2.5mm??

as for the set up, you are either going to use the included dongle (below)



or you are going to wanna use something like what i'm using:


both will allow you to plug the phone into the cigarette lighter AND the aux input on your radio.

is that cable detachabale from your proclip mount? I already have a mount i like, but I can't find a way to charge and output sound that doesn't involved some kind of horrible dongle/wire mess hanging right off the bottom. Hoping that I could convince proclip to sell me just the 40cm cable.

Proclip has a mount that has a 40CM cable that comes off the bottom, permanantley mounted that allows both charging and aux out. theyhave both 3 and 40 cm cables modles. Im buying the 40cm cable so that I can tuck it under a body panel and totally out of sight. just a thought.

The above link shows the 3 cm cable. just picture the same thing, only longer...
