Re: Evdo Speed Tweaks For Touch Pro

I noticed an improvement in mine. I'm in Houston and never get any kind of speeds others post. Usually never seen it higher than 500kb/sec. I would think I would get better in such a huge city.

I got all excited and downloaded, my rom was already set to all the setting you said to use :(

South East Ohio. VZW Touch Pro. Mighty Mike 4.16 with Telus Radio. 900kbit in PIE on the 1MB file at dslreports changed 2451808 to 93800 now getting 1125kbit. Doesn't look like a huge jump but hey, 20% is 20%.

RWIN settings are tricky. If the setting is to high then in many cases you will get slow speeds vs. high speeds.

Re: Evdo Speed Tweaks For Touch Pro

Running Stock Sprint ROM. For me it is inconsistent no matter what I have RWIN set at. Mine was originally 415030. I was getting ~500kbs which is about normal for me with my bars moving from 1-4 just about all day. I was testing this last night with dslspeed on PIE - between 400-500. Tried the settings in the first post and then boom, 1010kbs. Tried it again, 600, again 400, again, 150. Yikes! Then it seemed to settle in the 300's. Changed RWIN to 2451808 as some of you seem to have here and got the same type of decreasing returns. So I set it back again to the original and I am back to ~500, but I just got one test done with 1017, then ~700. So, IMO, you need to try this over the course of a few days to see if it really makes a difference.

Re: Evdo Speed Tweaks For Touch Pro

I was interested to see if this made any difference and i was shocked at what i found. When i did my test, i had just re-flashed and did a hard reset. First i ran the test before installing TCPTUNE and then after with changing the settings to: Rwin: 98300
Windows Scaling on
TTL 128
MTU Discovery on
Selective Acks on
Time Stamps off
and then a soft reset.

First I ran one test in Opera, then in IE. and did this for a total of 4 time before and after. Here are the results

I think i have found two things here.
1. Opera is much slower in IE
2. There is a difference in speed.
2.a. It looks as tho there is less of a cap between the slowest and the fastest after the TCPTUNE.
2.b IE gained a much faster increase in speed after TCPTUNE.

IMO all speed test sites are only as good as the connection between the Tester and the server. Alot can change in 2 ms. But every second counts and this fix did make a difference for me. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.
