Your own personal speed is dependant on network conditions in your area. If your carriers bandwidth is limited in your area you won't see an increase no matter what you do as the bottleneck is on their end.

On the other hand if your carrier has speed to spare this might make a big difference depending on your current settings.

You would not see any improvement with ICS since that's using whatever PC you use for the various tcp windows (running ppp over raw evdo link, remember)

You have to run the speed test on the device itself - note this is likely why we all see better speeds while tethering.

Same with me... I was getting around 500 before changing the Rwin, and about 1100 after.

Using KK's 2.0beta2 rom

BTW... I tested within my phone with I explorer and Opera. I don't have a phone as modem plan.

thanks for this. I've installed and tested and noticed an increase in speeds. Heck felt so please I'm replying now via touch pro ics.

if u have sprint and have unlimited data...you can tether your phone to your laptop...it shows up on the bill as data. Just don't go crazy...I've been doing this for the past 6 months and HAVE NOT BEEN CHARGED EXTRA

Really? Seriously? I was wondering. I only pay like $19 for unlimited data... but no TV or phone as modem, which would cost me like $39.

for $15 i get unlimited data and basic sprint tv.....did they change it because it wasnt a special when i got it??
