Re: Evdo Speed Tweaks For Touch Pro

I am finally going to try the registry tweaks for my TP on Verizon.
Should I be using speedtest.net from Opera?
Is there a decrease in battery life with these changes?

-Cool, GL.
-When speedtesting do not use opera. Data is sent pre-rendered and quite compressed via a proxy server.
IEmobile6 (& PIE) should connect directly and give a more acurate reading. My IE6 (Juicy made it flash enabled!) succesfully completed the 1MB download @ speedtest.net but I prefer this which I have as as bookmark:
mobilespeedtest.com - 1024K
-Depends on signal quality and EPST settings more but I'd have to lean towards no. I mean faster throughput vs(as-well-as) lower latency should mean that the phone is not working as hard to recieve info.

note: From my experience, even if it's a newly flashed device and I've just cleared IE's temp files, another decent speed test is tethering. Many people will argue that it's more acurate but I hardly use my phone tethered so I disagree.
I may edit this later with less run-ons, lol it's all outta my head now though.

They both do, it's Opera's thing. I beleive the full desktop browser does as well.

Re: Evdo Speed Tweaks For Touch Pro

Just curious if anyone has tried this with a US Cellular Touch Pro. Currently running the stock ROM (1.08.573.2 from Here for USCC) dated July 20th. Will probably be going with a custom soon, have had good experience with DCD's previously. But for now I am trying to tweak this as much as possible, so I can make a good backup before I upgrade. Let us know
