Not gonna lie, its time consuming. And you've gotta be VERY CAREFUL! So many ribbon cables that can tear!

Here's the service manual. Page 19 starts with disassembly: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3IOVUX7P

In your opinion, would taking it apart allow me to fix the large keypad button that "sticks up" on my VZW TP?

What do you mean? The front buttons?

I managed to fix mine by adding tiny rubber ring on the screw before I put it in. It allows the button to be more flush with the phone.

I did mine the Sharpie way, and it turned out great.
The only problem i have now, vibrate no longer works.. Hmm. i think i missed something when putting it back together.

here is a link on how to take The TP apart

everything is in Russian, but a picture is worth a thousand words
and i can read the instructions, trust me, you dont need them.

Thanks to those who came up with this idea. The credit is all yours!=D>

What about the "warranty void if broken" sticker on these?

The screw on the back (beneath where the Sprint logo is on the front, or from the back, it's the upper left screw) has a black "security" sticker over the screw. By breaking this, it shows that the device has been tampered with.

Has anyone had their phone rejected for warranty replacement (not insurance) because of this?

thanks, i have no idea how i came across that. i think that was all google. either way, its step by step!

looks almost like a surgical tool. i didnt have any thin plastic knife that would fit in the tight space, so i just used my nail and worked it around. it came out great. that way i did not scratch the phone or put dings in the edges.

next up, boiling the cover!

has anyone changed the keyboard LED color. when i had the phone apart i took a look at the keyboard and it seemed to be sealed, so i did not want to operrate and endup needing a new one. :???:
