Re: Best IM program for TP?
does the same thing... disconnects from the service whenever the phone is in standby.
the worst part is that none of them actually tell me that i've been disconnected... i'll pull out the phone and send an IM, but the person never recieves it... for everything i've tried, i have to exit the program and reconnect before i can send and recieve IMs again. basically, i just want something where i can be on aim and readily able to send or receive IMs without a hassle... |

Re: Best IM program for TP?
personally, i use palringo, and it works incredibly well. i dont see any issues like u mentioned ( i still recive messages even is my screen is off) and it supports most major services and have alot of handy features.
I love the voice chat option, sometimes you cant type so u can send a little prerecorded message and the other end recives a link to play. and sending pics is a breeze. try it out. Hope that helps. http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/

I have to +1 for Palringo. When I have it on, I get messages even in Standby mode, and supports all major IM programs. If you're having trouble w Palringo, it's gotta be on your end or some setting you don't have set up correctly.

Re: Best IM program for TP?
Beejive will destroy your battery if you keep it signed in, keep that in mind.
Palringo will cost some battery, too, but if you already have something like push e-mail which keeps your data connection up all of the time, you'll hardly notice the difference. Palringo doesn't stay connected reliably though. |
