on mine it stops at 160

my bad, i assumed it stopped at 160 but i was wrong

This is the HTC Touch Pro forum. Those setings must be for your palm phone or some other third party software.
The proper registry entry he asked about, for the Touch Pro, is
HKEY_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/SMS/TextShared
"IS637MaxAsciiCharacters"
value should be set to 160

yea. i knu that, but i didnt know if it was a big difference, being winmo 6.1..my back..i take it off
