Re: Is WM6.5 faster or better in any way than WM6.1?

Go 6.5, JD has a nice rom in the CDMA upgrades section. I was really disappointed when I got the first details on 6.5 but wow, its really nice. The kenitic scrolling is just amazing, so smooth. I feel like every program (email, sms etc. etc.) is a totally new program so much more finger friendly.

To the OP:
Faster: Check. Better: Check.
But, only if you have the hardware for it...

Those that are having a positive experience with 6.5, please list what ROM you're using and what tweaks if any you've done that improve your experience.

JD's Rom - cooked from the latest kitchen. So far no problems other than the delayed ring when the phone is locked (fixed by disabling the HTC Phone Canvas and using the standard WM phone canvas).

Installed Titanium Weather plugin. No further tweaks applied outside of reordering/removing some tabs in cHome - runs very smoothly no problems for over a week since the last ROM cook/flash. Scrolling is much improved - both by the redraw and the lack of inadvertent "selections" when trying to scroll.

Any reason you prefer the kitchen over the rom?

I ran the rom the day it came out, it was a tad laggy, but good otherwise.

Mainly because I don't need any sort of "loaded rom". Personally I prefer to keep it as clean as I can - only apps that I actually may use/need preloaded as well as from a UI configuration standpoint - and then manually load the few extra apps I need/use for work/personal purposes.

Re: Is WM6.5 faster or better in any way than WM6.1?

I don't know who gave this thread only 1 star, but it definitely deserves more than that. Also, I don't know if people really even look at the thread rating at all, so this might be a moot point.

As far as the 6.1 v 6.5 debate goes, some of the best, most stable roms are on 6.1. It's only because it's been out for so long and we've had ample time to tweak it. 6.5 will eventually get that way, but I'm not quite sure if 6.5 is ready yet, especially for newer users. However, I haven't had much experience with 6.5 myself, but I'm extremely satisfied with the 6.1 rom I use (KK's Loaded v2beta2). Mike's is probably the most popular rom, and it's still on 6.1 as well. So I guess try out a couple, see what does it for you.

windows mobile 6.5 is wayyyy better than 6.1, even with the occasional bug.

thust why its called an upgrade, the problem is that alot of people are so used to 6.1 that they try to find any excuse to be skeptical or resist an upgrade to 6.5

IMO its the best thing that has ever happened to my Vogue, the upgrades to contacts, messanging, file explorer etc. makes it look and feel like a whole new app

not at all a complete overhaul but a step in the right direction, i love it
