How did you take off the security black tape over the screw in the top right corner? How do you remove it and put it back so that sprint still honor's their warranty on the phone?

Just want to say I opened my phone yesterday twice. The first time I just connected the cables again the second I electical taped them down. For people who love the touch pro I recommend you do this. It's easy and my phone is as good as new now.

Sprint has never complained about the "security" tape being missing on the screws. I've swapped 2 phones out that I'd opened up.

hmm yea ur phone sounds like it's in bad shape ... my keyboard had a short or something in it .. i took it apart like 3 times and it didn't start working until I dismounted it from the housing and then re mounted it. It worked for about 2 wks then i just put a new one in I bought and it's working for the last 2 months

Re: hardware keyboard issue photo essay a.k.a. i was bored

I'm on my 3rd TP, this one a refurb. I keep hoping it'll die and maybe they'll deign to send me a TP2 but no such luck. This refurb seems to be rock solid :/ I'm tempted to pop it open just to see what they did for the ribbon cable. I bet they hot glued it.

Re: hardware keyboard issue photo essay a.k.a. i was bored

Yeah I thought my TP was possessed it kept switching back and forth from portrait/landscape mode. I put a rubber spacer(tire repair patch) on the back of the keyboard ribbon. That keeps pressure on the connection when resembled. The gremlins are gone for now. Huge design flaw!!!
