TomTom Services

Are TomTom Services (such as Buddies, Traffic, etc) compatible with my Verizon Touch Pro?

I'm assuming that the TomTom Services just perform some type of bluetooth DUN tethering.

Re: TomTom Services

It is my understanding that TomTom Services simply use your data connection to communicate back to a dedicated TomTom server. So as long as you have a valid GPS signal and active data connection, they should be compatible with your VZ TP. They work fine (for one free month) with my Sprint and AT&T variants....

Hope this helps!

Re: TomTom Services

It sounds like he has a standalone TomTom unit and wants to use his phone as a modem for the services. Am I right?

If I am, it is possible to do this, but you'll have to install a special CAB to enable bluetooth DUN. Let me know if that's what you need, and I'll upload it for you.

Re: TomTom Services

I just got a standalone tomtom go 630 and can't seem to get it to use my phones data connection. I installed the wm 6.1 bluetooth dun cab but it didn't fix the problem. I see there is a difference on the phone. it now shows using bluetooth serial connection instead of dial-up connection but the tomtom still reports unsuccessful.

Anybody got this to work and have the correct manual entries for the tomtom?
