Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I have also been lurking this thread and I have read every post. I currently have a outdated XV6800 that I don't want anymore. I'm interested in the TP. From what I gather, as long as I tell VZW that it's from Alltel and NOT Sprint, I can get it added to the DMD. Am I right?

Also would I have to complete the "instructions.txt" before or after I call VZW?

I'm in the same boat and I'd only try that if I knew for a fact and was 100% certain it would get added to the DMD. I'll try getting it added if and when it no longer works on their network, but otherwise I'm leaving well enough alone.
That is pretty much what I have lived by, but not knowing what Verizon is going to do about our "Unknown" devices is what I am worried about. Guess I shouldn't worry about it until I need too. Thanks!

I would focus on getting VZW to add it to their DMD first. No sense in f'n with the phone until you know for sure its going to be approved.

Should I give it a try, or just leave it alone in the hopes that Verizon will not eventually find it and remove it? I am also a little worried about touching my TP at this point as I don't want anything to cause it to stop working on Verizon's network. I have already loaded a couple of ROMs since they closed the hole, but I have just not wanted to take any chances. Thanks for your time!

To my understanding, you are safe unless you hard reset using "clear storage". there are a few members here (jmorton, dehx) that have been flashing and not de-activating.

He also said he would personally follow up with phone call to me to make sure it was done by Monday. I told him that it was an Alltel TP and he said it was on the approved device list and he would gladly take care of it. Probably one of the best techs I've talked to. I almost fell out of my chair how coopertive he was. I'm crossing my fingers it works. I just flashed to the stock leaked Verizon rom to eliminate variables. I never got that PM JPMORTON. I looked thru my profile and its set up to accept them. I worked my way thru the programming of the QPST settings from the text file someone posted on this thread. THANKS. Will post as soon as I know something.
Well I would like to report a successful Sprint on Verizon activation. My phone was activated on Monday, about 48hrs from when I called it in. The tech even called me back like he said he was (a day late though). I have data and everything else. I'm running the stock leaked verizon rom with the modded prl. I followed the instructions posted in the instruction text and success. I also have unlocked GPS (bored instructions) with extremely fast locks. Sometimes I get like 14 sats.

Put the PRL file (they can be found in the touch pro forums) on either your phone's internal memory or a micro SD card and dial ##PRL on the phone. That will bring you to a menu to allow you to load the modified PRL. Also make sure your QPST settings are correct. When youve got it right you'll connect to Verizon's system when you dial *228

Must dial ##DIAG before connecting the usb to put the phone into diagnostic mode for QPST to find it. May also need the HTC drivers.

QPST version 2.7 build 301 is what you want >>(try here)<< The older version you have can be made to work, but it doesn't recognize the TP correctly & makes things more complicated (if you don't pick the correct setting in the phone drop down box, it will not show the GPS & MIP tabs & a few others)

You DEFINITELY need the HTC modem drivers installed first before connecting QPST & ACE is correct (no big surprise there, the man knows his stuff), the phone has to be in the diag mode to connect to QPST.
