My bad, throws a red flag with the carrier. They have fraud detection systems for this kind of thing. It started when cell phones actually cost a lot of money and people would clone an ESN for free cell service. Then they wrack up a huge bill on the unfortunate victim.

My point is almost nobody is that poor anymore. There are a lot of legitimate purposes for this.

So what options are there now if you want a TP(non-verizon model) running on verizon?

Well it sounds like a very small percentage of people are having success having a non verizon phone added to the system for activation.

There is the theory that once the Alltel system integration is complete that you will be able to activate an Alltel Pro, but thats just a theory.

Terrific! Might as well just wait for Christmas.... when the TP 2 will be finally coming out for verizon, 6 months after every other carrier. I sure hope they have learned their lesson when releasing smartphones with sub-par specs.

I have a question I think I already know the answer to. But I want to be 100% sure before I do it. I have a Sprint TP on Verizon's network that has worked great. I want to change the rom again, since I won't be using *228 option 3, only option 1 or whaterver it is, this will not effect me in any way? As long as I never activate another phone on their system my service will not be lost?

To be honest I'd just like to know if the person that actually made the decision even knows what kind of drama they caused for the enthusiast community.

Its a big company, and never assume they're up to speed on things like we are.

Also, I have my HA and AAA codes saved, so if I lose them I can just reenter them?

Does it show a Touch Pro online? If so, you're pretty much save from everything. If not, then you're only active in the DMD, whenever (if) the next sync between the billing system and the DMD happens, you'll be SOL.

No it doesn't show a TP online... :(. How often does this happen, is it something I need to be worried about. BTW I flashed a new rom and it worked out fine entering all my info through QPST.
