Same here. I'm on an Alltel too. Didn't think there would be any difference. This goes to further show that despite all the flashing and modding we do, there still remains some code in our phones set to our original carriers.

I know this because anytime I do *228 option 1 my (10digit@vzw3g.com) settings for data get reset to alltel.

I'd love to be able to hunt down and flash this last remaining vestige of Alltel programming, but I have yet to find out how.

I've thought that also. None of my info gets reset to Sprint settings with *228/1 but I can never get rid of that roaming triangle. As of now I'm hesitant to do anything though other than update the PRL as I don't want to endanger my activation. I just need this phone to last until the announcement of either an uncrippled Touch Pro or Touch Diamond 2 or the end of my contract, whichever comes first.

Radio roms arent carrier specific. I've flashed several of the available ones and it has no effect.

This is what I thought the PRI was for, carrier specific programming information. Maybe when we flash a PRI it only changes what is in the new PRI and leaves other things unmodified?

Now that I think about it I do remember having to fiddle around with the ERI to get it to work properly. I don't know if that might help you Sprint guys out or not.

I loaded mine through the EFS explorer in QPST. I believe I right clicked on the old one and uploaded the new one, but it has been awhile.

The attached file has 2 ERI files inside. The ERI100.bin is what I just copied off my Alltel TP. The 00004.bin I just copied from my Verizon 6800 (and did not have the .bin extension, I added it to compare with a hex editor). I think the various programming in our PRI's or whatever determine what the name of the ERI needs to be, yours may be different.

It's definitely has nothing to do with the radio.

I have tried a half dozen different radio's in mt Sprint/Verizon TP (currently using the Telus) & that doesn't really affect any of the other settings.

I have two xv6800 Verizon phones sitting here I could grab the ERI from, but I am scared/paranoid about changing anything that might affect my VZ activation at this point.

My phone has worked perfectly since early November (my current setup with Mighty 4.16 is AWESOME) & I really have no reason to change anything. Using PRL 51190 I don't have the roaming triangle (that PRL has worked for me in three different phones)

Alltel or Sprint, load the PRL's from my earlier post and you won't have the roaming triangle anymore. It's actually identical to what the Verizon TP gets. Latest PRL + fixed for *actual* roaming. No need to mess with the ERI (unless you want to).

Yeah, same here. I thought I had fixed that but was proven wrong the last time I did *228.
