well I just had a vzw touch pro (after my 13th mogul) let's just say I am missing my sprint quite a bit. i flashed quite a few roms, removed a lot of unnecessary junk. it would be acceptable if this weren't in winmo 6.1 imho (the memory leaks are unforgivable)
its a mediocre phone to me. so I am hoping my meid is added soon. i'll have the vzw tpro just in case something happens to my sprint. The vzw one is insured so meh

Yes, the additional memory makes a huge difference. I have tried SSK roms along with almost every other rom available and as wonderful as they are, they will never make up for the memory that VZW raped from their TP. The piss poor build quality (bump on screen,d-pad issues) and overall design on the VZW version sealed the deal. The design is a personal preference, as I think the VZW model is butt ugly.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Sprint TP's (I have three of them) but it irritates me when I read post after post here saying the VZ version is a crippled piece of junk which is really not the case at all.

I do think it sucks that VZ cut down the memory & charges MORE for the phone (which I think is ugly), but I have two co-workers who have the VZ version & they actually work just fine in everyday use (They both LOVE the phones although they are not geeks like most people on this site)

One of them has been tweaked like crazy by me & it runs super (I would be perfectly happy with it) I flashed it to SSK 1.5 & did all the speed tweaks for him & if we A/B that setup next to my everyday TP running Mighty 4.16 the speed difference between the two is too small to even notice.

I actually prefer certain things in the VZ version. I hate the hardware KB in my Sprint TP, I think the buttons are way too small & stiff to be very useful & find the VZ version much easier to type on. Since I use Touchpal in T+ 99% of the time, that doesn't really matter to me however.

I agree, most people that bash the VZW Pro have never used it. I have had it since December and have tried everything imaginable to make it the best it could be. The VZW TP does not work for ME. The Sprint version does.

The average Joe-Blow would probably like the VZW version just fine but I am not the average user. Even if I was I am a stickler for quality especially on phones that I pay good money for. How anyone could overlook this phones flaws is beyond me... VZW has no problem slapping its customers in the face- that is a fact...

On that we agree 100% (it looks like a 10 year old design to me)

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I had a sprint TP on Verizon for a month. It ran great until I flashed and messed up. Either way, my other phone is a XV6800 (titan or mogul depending on how you are). I have a hard time believing the the Verizon TP can be as bad as my Titan. The titan only has 15 megs of free memory most of the time.

Does anyone have info that you can actually compare. Not just the this sucks and I hate that garbage, but actual side by side comparisons of free memory. Basically, I love the reception that I get with verizon where I live. Sprint is not so good in my city. But if I have to, I will purchase a verizon TP. I'd just like to know how much free ram at boot, so I can guage how bad or good off I will be.

I had Sprint for two years & had tons of problems that totally disappeared as soon as I switched to VZ. I travel all over the country on business & Sprint's network simply is not good enough for me (unfortunately, because it certainly is cheaper)

That being said, this cr@p VZ is pulling now is really puzzling. Why they would even want to block anybodies phone is puzzling as the monthly fee is where their income comes form, not hardware sales.

I am using a Sprint TP right now on my VZ account (Mighty ROM), but I will be pretty careful what changes I make from here on out.....

LOL, Horse crap. Around here sprint kicks Verizon's butt in both data and voice. When Verizon screwed me out of hundreds of dollars I switched over to sprint and at the time Verizon didn't even have broadband in my rural area but sprint did.

I have far fewer dropped calls now and I have been saving a boat load of money.
