Rubber or Hard case? Better protector?

I'm looking on ebay and they are both under like $8 shipped.

What protects my phone better - rubber or hard case from drops?

i use a hard case and it's pretty durable. sprint oem for $20.

If you're only worried about drops, I'd say rubber. Rubber absorbs a lot more shock than plastic does.

I'd only get a hard case if I was going for looks, or if I was keeping it in my pocket.
