Re: Sprint TelNAV

I'm running MightyRom 4.15 and had to remove Telenav. The screen couldn't redraw fast enough and I had multiple 'arrows' all over the place. I reinstalled the stock Nav and all is well. The VGA version sure was pretty though....

Re: Sprint TelNAV

When using MightROM 4.15 and Telenav 5.1.16 I didn't have any problems. Now I'm using Telenav with MightyROM 4.16. To me it seems the Telenav application does not have as much lag as Sprint Navigation. (To me Telenav does not have any lag at all.)

ItsDon, did you soft reset after installing and try it on a few drives before dumping Telenav?

Yeah, I'm a big fan of soft resets. it's like rebooting a PC, it fixes things and I have no idea why (and don't care!). TeleNav worked fine on Mighty 4.14 for the one trip I took it on but 4.15 was a disaster. I haven't updated to 4.16 as there didn't seem to be a compelling reason (other than flash obsession) and will probably wait until Mike puts out whatever the next release is. I may give TeleNav another shot then.

Re: Sprint TelNAV

It told me my subscription had expired too and wouldn't go past that. I didn't have the sprint version installed on this rom, so I figured I'd try it to see if it worked. Installed the sprint one and it logged in and worked fine. reinstalled the telenav version and now it works too. The sprint version may have to be installed on the phone prior to updating with the telenav version to get past the subscription error.

That's a good move if having problems. So far, I have not had issues when installing Telenav 5.1.16 with MightyROM.

Re: Sprint TelNAV

So can someone confirm that they are NOT paying any additional monthly fee with TeleNav 5.1 and a Simply Everything plan?

Re: Sprint TelNAV

I rarely use it (but I don't pay extra) simply because prolonged use of internet like telenav uses starts draining the battery due to heat overload. I end up using iGuidance because it doesn't have to load the maps from the internet.

I just wanted to add that I have used the sprint navigation many times on an older phone and overall really liked it. But, 90% of the reason I bought this phone was so that i can install a stand-a-lone gps program and not have to pay monthly fees, or upgrade my data plan.

I use igo8 on my phone and am very happy with it. I have tried a couple versions of it, a TTS version, and a non-TTS version and overall the non-tts version runs smoother, and faster so I have been sticking to that.

Re: Sprint TelNAV

I just flashed MightyRom 4.16 and still using SprintNav 2.1.7

As a previous posters have stated, I too can't use the "Drive To" feature, but "Map it" seems to work ok. Anyone found a cure for this?
