Re: What killed my battery?

Don't forget, if you're in a low-signal area your phone will drain much quicker

I didn't see 'turn off data' as an option for the long press.

Re: What killed my battery?

My guess will be signal lost. All other scenarios will drain juice as well, but over night I stick with signal loss

Are you certain of that? My understanding is that, as long as the arrows were grayed out, there's no data transfer and battery life isn't affected.

Mike

start/settings/system/long press/automatically execute the selected action and 3rd down is terminate data connection.

Re: What killed my battery?

In Low/Roaming signal, I have seen my phone go from 80 to 10% batt life in just 3 hours.

There is a hack that will turn of data in a few minutes of nonuse. I believe that this will make your phone unanswerable (people call, and you can't answer), but there is a hack to fix that. Last time, I use Ad. Config to change it, then I had to use the hack to get my phone to answer...Granted, if you have a program like SEVEN or Palringo installed, it is useles since your data connection will always be somewhat active.

Good Luck,

-CD

Re: What killed my battery?

If you're running something like smartphone tracker, sprite terminator, nuegpstracker, etc and you try to use one of its features, and it can't get a GPS lock, they have high retry counts set to default... I had it kill the battery on my phone once like that, because in the area of my apartment where my PC is, there is no real open sky view so it never got a GPS lock.

There's lots of things that could have happened, a process could have gotten stuck in a loop and ate up 100% cpu till it died.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's easiest to attribute it to being in a low service area. I always keep mine plugged in overnight.
