it turns off if you scroll to your text messages, exit from a text, or reply to a text.... i made mine really short

Actually this is just a waste of time, just save the trimmed MP3 or any MP3 to My Documents folder (not the ringtones folder in the my documents folder) on your device and you can use it as any of the ringtones without having to change names or anything
