make sure you have the metro connection
under settings-connections-connections.
click manage existing connections, make sure there is no sprint related connections.

Yeah, I deleted all of that and now that the HTC_Guardian file is gone, it isn't coming back. But, I'm still having these issues. Did you see my question about the MIN number? What do you think?

I am having the same problem.. just got metropcs 45 data play for my htc tp
I am not able to get internet working..

can anyone who has internet working on metropcs confirm what the password is? is it metropcs or mymetropcs?

Also, how can I find out if my phone is unlocked? I read "MAKE SURE YOU UNLOCK YOUR PHONE BEFORE FLASHING TO A CUSTOM ROM"

I would like to load juciy or mighty rom (currently I can enter "000000" and it lets me in.. does that mean its unlocked? or do I still need to Hard SPL)

I can answer you question a little, at least as far as the unlocking part. Metro PCS did not unlock the phone when they flashed it. You have to use a certain program to unlock it. Mine was called "Diamond_unlocker". I'm not sure what the program for your phone would be called. But until you unlock it, the installer for the ROM file will not be able to complete. You'll get an error code... You might want to ask around to find out what your unlocker would be...

I'm still looking for my answers as far as the rest of it goes...

I can tell you that after a lot of frustration I have figured out that internet on my HTC Touch flashed to Metro will only work when in 1X, not in EVDO. At home I get 1X and at work I get EVDO signals and got clued into this when it works at home but at work it keeps saying "username or password incorrect". My guess is there are different setting (probably without proxy) that need to be made for EVDO; then when you want to go online you check to see which you are getting and default to that setting.
This is something I will be working on in the next few days.
BTW: I got my settings from Sticky, so thanks to him.
I am in the Detroit Metro Service area.

I don't have an answer for you, as I am not a very tech savvy. But I think you should visit http://www.supportonclick.com. I had taken their help while setting the internet protocol in my pc. The staffs out there are extremely skilled in performing these kinds of jobs. I hope they might help you to set internet connection soon.

i have also followed these steps vary carefully, and repeated several times to check if its is all right, thy are good. my connections do not reset them selves as i have installed the Shaggylive HTC_CM_Killer.cab so all is well there. but i can not connect to the internet, as this is the first step before ur able to proceed w/ MMS. I as well get the same message (username or password incorrect) after reading hundreds of forums, i still have the same results. AAAAAAA FRACK! I'm ready to rip my eyes out! I would just like to have the internet working, later ill work on the mms. man i thought this was going to b easy! if anyone would like more tech. info just ask..... NEED HELP PLZ!

H82W8V6 well so much for that one, I did get Internet up n running, for the most part.... but i,m still having trouble w/ GPS, MMS, and dose anyone know what mtroPCS is pumping out for internet sig. because when i useSkyfire it dosnt really want to stream video, just wondering..... maybe i havnt finished all settings.... and what is the most user friendly Rom for mtropcs, im using PMD ROMz WWE, just wondering if another rom might help some functions. Thanks 4 all ur Help.
