Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

If you got to the thread on xda that the op posted, and email francarl saying that you wish to be a beta tester, you can get the latest version (1.10rc11) which is considerably more stable than 1.10. He has asked that the latest beta version not be distributed. My guess is that he'll be going commercial with this at some point.

Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

OK well I found a discrepancy. Not rally a big issue, but in file explorer, if I'm in a sub folder, the menu pops up just fine after trying to select a new location from up above, but if I'm in "My Device" then the drop down is the normal kind. So I dunno, I guess it's not a big deal, but its still an inconsistency.

Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

I have downloaded and it works great, just a couple of questions.

This downloads 2 programs twice on my Programs Menu under main button. 2 of Close and 2 of Config. Then in listing, there is a 3rd.

Very strange. Close does nothing. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled. Soft reset both times.

Is this correct - bugs me having duplicate programs with one that doesn't function

Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

Thanks for checking, I downloaded the cab, installed, to Diamond Internal Memory, checked auto start.
Checked File Explorer, it is not loaded in Internal Memory, its in Device.
Checked Programs, had two icons each for Config and Close.
Program works great, but don't want on My Device to save storage. And don't want cluttered Program file.

Hmm. Well, you could just manually drag the files then to recreate shortcuts, in file explorer click and hold the EXE files, then when the menu comes up select copy. Then go to your finger menu folder in your programs folder, delete those shortcuts, and click and hold and select "paste as shortcut." You'll also need to do this in \Windows\StartUp\ so the shortcut there points to the correct location.

Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

I have a black/gray theme on my phone, so I changed the selection color to black with a gray gradient. I thought I'd share it in case anyone is interested and doesn't want to bother changing it themselves. All you have to do is unzip the file (there is a VGA and QVGA version inside), turn off FingerMenu, copy the PNG to program files/fingermenu, and then soft reset. I'm at work and cannot post a screen shot, but I'll try to remember this evening.

File Type: zip Black Selection FingerMenu.zip (5.8 KB, 27 views) Click for barcode!

Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

I thanked you for the answer, followed your directions, still shows up twice on programs menu, but it does work. I checked remove programs, only listed once, no idea. I just try to keep phone clean when I install, so I know what I did if I don't like it.
Will use it and hopefully it works well.
Thanks again for the help.

Re: Fat finger-friendly menus for WM here

When you run the .cab file on your phone, it will install the program. Once it is installed, you can use your phone's file explorer to navigate to the different directories like you can on a computer. This is talking about going into my device/program files/fingermenu. Once in that directory you will see the .exe files that are being discussed. Without replacing the .exe's that are installed when you initially run the .cab file, the menu loads really slow. Replacing the .exe's with the compressed version will cause it to open instantly with no delay.
