cannot get out of bootloader cycle

not sure whats going on here but my g/f's phone was working just fine for about 1 month on custom ROM .... now when reset it just goes to bootloader mode.... reset again same thing .... re-imaged to different rom ... same problem .... maybe 1 in about 20 resets will actually load the phone up..... this could vary some time it loads after 4 trys sometime it loads after 50 ..... when the phone actually loads it works just fine. i have a feeling its going to need to be replaced but any help will not hurt.

Might be a stretch, but perhaps relock and flash the signed touch pro rom? (I assuming you have Sprint)
