Do all the January builds of sprint tp have a slightly yellow screen?

i quite like the cooler color temperature than than the yellow.

a yellow screen sounds like a bad thing to me.

My screen is quite while when I have it on moderate brightness... Even on reduced brightness, it doesn't have the yellow tinge to it the Mogul screens did...

I'll hold on to my white screen..

Sucks but it is possible they did a "Hardware Revision" (yhey..wait.) ,cut down costs because so many people returned their phone after seeing a ppcgeeks thread arguing about which build date was better, and who took the shipping tape behind the keyboard off etc etc extra accessories

It be hard to cut costs on any other hardware part, since the ram and processors are branded and up to specification, they might have turned to our screens...our beloved VGA portals to the mobile world... and p1ssed on them - all of which i hope is not true.

yes, the new screen is yellow....ish.

its not cause all ppcgeekers decided to return their tp's, its because the white screen was too nice, and they didn't want the screen to reflect the lack of quality they went with for the rest of the device lol

hmm if thats true. its like a catch 22. return a pre 09 TP or get a yellower screen 09 TP grrr

just got one friday. build date 1/17/09. i wouldn't call it yellow but more pale than my third tp. alot whiter than the refurb they tried to push on me.

Hardware revisions are almost always better than the original 'first-generation.' I think the Xbox360 is the perfect example. Even though they cut down on costs, they increased the quality. In fact in the 360, they actually increased quality by cutting costs since the newer 65nm chips are cheaper to make and more efficient/less prone to overheating and eventually RRODing.

I have seen both yellow and white.

A guy I worked with got his Sprint Pro on the first batch and his is simply not as bright as my VZW Pro. Although there is convievably differnt hardware for this but the Non VZW versions I have used, sprint and alltell, are just not as bright as my purewhite VZW screen.

Now on the same hand my room moate has a VZW pro and its not as bright as mine.

I Dont think this is a hardware revision but more so lets switch to the lowest bidder.

I HIHGLY doubt that HTC makes the screen which woudl account for the differnt descrepancies.

Another case in point. Look up the Samsung BBW224 or 224BW or something like that. It has three differnt panels in it. You can tell the quality between the three big time. They are stamped with differnt coding at the begining of the serial number and that tells which of the samsung plants made the screen. Just among manufactures and plants there can be a difference in quality.

As far as the titan goes. Yup, saw the exact same thing... Vogue... Guess what... Same thing.

To make a long story short... Just send it back and get another.
