I Hate Hate Hate Tf3d

I came from a titan runing DCD and i guess i'm spoiled because i'm used to things responding right away when i hit it on the screen. now, i think i've given tf3d a fighting chance. i've tried it stock (without & then with the touch pro clean up cab), juicy 4.7 and now mightymike 4.9?? (i think. what ever the most recent one is). the X button never seems to work well, everything is always a step behind, and i always seem to be opening things i dont want because i keep hitting 2 or 3 times and then the phone catches up it sends me through 2 or 3 menus i didn't mean to go into. i've run the tweeks found in touch pro essentials and didn't see much difference. i'm about to download GC's kitchen and just say screw it to tf3d. it's a shhame because in some ways i really like it. it's just to slow.

before i give up on it totally, anyone have any suggestions that might bring me around again? anyone have a rom especially built for tf3d speed? am i missing a important tweek that fixes everything? one last chance. HELP!

Sounds like you need to disable it.

Somthing must be wrong with your phone hardware. Have you tried running without your memory card inserted. I had a friend with some probs with bad sectors on a memory card and that caused his phone to be laggy. Apparently he did a scan and repair and deleted the livesearch cache which is where a lot of the bad files were. That fixed it but this has happened twice over the past 3 months.

Re: I Hate Hate Hate Tf3d

I have to say that is pretty weird. MMikes rom has the cfc - compressed HD version, which along with maxed out buffers per the essentials thread should be faster then my version running on top of the stock rom - and mine keeps up with me just fine.

How much free mem do you have? You don't need a boatload, so adding common apps to the exclude list in HTC Task Manager will keep em in memory and really speed up switching. I have opera and email always loaded since I'm most often flipping between them, and (along with insane buffer settings) I still have 80MB+ ram free. More then enough

Or as suggested above, just disable it and run whatever you were running on your mogul. I hear that's nice too

Schettj,

Does HTC Manager work on the Mogul?

I'm not Schettj, but yes there is an HTC Task Manager for the Mogul. I believe it's built into the stock rom. It would be the drop down menu in the top right corner that lists what apps are running. (just in case you aren't sure what it is, I apologize if you know already). I could try to find the cab I used when I had my Mogul and installed a clean ROM if you don't have it.

Bonzaiwolfe,

I haven't flashed my Rom yet. I'm trying to figure out what the best build would be for me and which Rom.

I have HTC's WM 6.1 upgrade and use the HTC TM so I'm sure I have it. Since you have a Mogul, what was the fastest and most stable Rom you flashed? I gave you a thanks for your post. I'm new at this so I am giving out lots of "Thanks."

The last one I used was DCD 3.2.6. It was a stripped down (clean) ROM, and I just added what I wanted. It was very stable for me, I don't know what version it's up to now though. The last time I flashed was in October last year for the Mogul. I guess for you it would depend if you like the normal Sprint load-out or not, since pretty much all of that was gone from his ROM. I just installed what I needed.

I never messed with the pagepool on the Mogul ROMs, but I think that would really be the only way to bump up the speed much (although Windows Mobile builds in the 20xxx series seem to be slightly faster than the 19xxx series). Personally though, the Mogul is so limited on RAM it's probably not a good idea to bump up the pagepool much if at all.

Sorry if I don't have a whole lot of information to give you, I didn't really get into more technical aspects of anything until I got my TP (and I'm still way behind a lot of people here :P) I'm pretty sure I still have the cabs for stuff I installed when I had my Mogul though, so I might be able to help a little with that.

Re: I Hate Hate Hate Tf3d

Try the version of Manila that ruskiyab has inside his HD People tab port ... it sped up TF3D on my device significantly. (CFC version)

As for the X button, that's a screen sensitivity issue, try boosting it and using TouchResponse for haptic feedback. Less propensity toward double-tapping things because you know the device registered the tap.
