stock rom help please

I have a few questions that I know people around here will be able to answer. I want to keep the sprint stock rom. I found out by doing a hard reset and then soft resetting twice before the sprint cusomizations that your can keep all the sprint junk from loading onto the phone. The main things that I dont want are the sprint applications. Like the sprint tv, sprint music, navigation. I want to keep everything else. Problem is everything else doesnt load.

So the question is what cabs out of the windows directory do I need to load. For one, I want to have a functional phone. Two, I want all the other apps. Can some one please tell me what cabs I would need to load with Total commander. It'd be great if someone could make a list with what each cab does. I'm sure there are other people out there that wouldnt mine going this route also. It's another option rather than a custom rom or kitchen.

try this.. you can take out what tabs you dont want. and you get a stock tab and a newer weather and people tab.. and its acuualy faster than the stop tf3d

That sounds awsome, but i'd like to get rid of the programs completely if at all possible.

the cabs for all the apps that did not run will be in /windows on device, you can search through them, and install the ones you want, as for removing, if it's not put in by customizations, about the best you can do is remove the shortcut from the start menu, or change any regs pointing to the program.

Just FYI: I would hard reset the phone then right before you see the 'customization' dialog soft reset with button at bottom. Do this two more times to be on the safe side and you should be good. Try to get it before you even see anything about customizations, such as as soon as you see the today screen.

Thanks man, just what I was looking for. The only thing is in that post, that can't be all the cabs I have to load? Do the com cabs, and all that load automatically then?
