Re: Better battery life with push mail on

The Hotmail one that the OP was referring to is included in your Windows Live program that you can find in your programs folder. Just set up a hotmail/live account if you don't already have one and sign in. It will set up everything for you more or less, just make sure to check "as items arrive" for how often you sync to achieve push email.

As for others? If I am right look for Sprint eMail cab, I forgot where it is but it supports PUSH for other email service provider like, MSN, Yahoo, GMail (problematic) and AOL.

I didn't realize that Sprint provided a push email program. Is this new?

I don't think that sprint offers this service anymore.

oh he must've have been referring to the @sprintpcs.com e-mail address? Yea its a shame Sprint ended that service. According to the ##786 data my email address was just my firstlast name, which would've been easy to give to people.

Re: Better battery life with push mail on

I think the sprint push email they are referring to is Sprint Mobile Email. It is basically a version of Seven. I'm not sure if they still offer it or not. You might as well just use Seven Beta instead of the Sprint version though if you are wanting to go that route. I use the Windows Live setup that was described earlier in the thread. I have it set to receive items as they arrive and I have my gmail forwarded there.

Re: Better battery life with push mail on

Is Windows Live Free though? I remember trying to start it up on the vogue, and it told me that I was beginning a trial period by starting the program. If it is, then I'll definently try this. More battery life is always better!

YES!!! Thanks soooo much! I've already made an account and set it to sync "as items arrive." Can't wait to see how this effects my battery life

Re: Better battery life with push mail on

I have noticed a decent improvement in using Live instead of Seven.

Re: Better battery life with push mail on

Yes, but if you have emails forwarded from another account (in my case, Gmail) to your Live mail account, your "Reply to" address ends up being xxxxx@live.com. I wish there was a way to configure it to be from xxxxx@gmail.com.

Re: Better battery life with push mail on

I also have my gmail account on my phone, but I have it set to manually send/receive. If I get an email I have to reply to, I just open up my gmail and send it. I don't reply to stuff that is forwarded from my live account. I know it's a hassle, but it beats the battery drain I had with seven.
