Based off personal experience, yes.
It also looks like all of the tests were on sprint. It may be possible that verizon has higher speeds (see below)

Using Ares, I can download about 25 songs in no time. It is not lightning fast but it isn't slow either.

Well I just flashed to the Telus radio. I was on Sprint. Download on Sprint radio was 485 and upload was 188.

Now with Telus I get 512 download and 205 upload. Not much improvement. And I have 5 bars. Any reg tweaks ?

Well all I know is that I am able to play World of Warcraft on my laptop while tethered to my Pro...with absolutley no difference at all in terms of playability or lag. It runs smooth as silk. I can also run teamspeak/ventrillo while playing wow and still have little/no issues (the only problem is if someone texts me, the data connection drops for a second, and Wow will freeze, then unlock itself after about 30 seconds)

Now to me...thats effin' awesome...no speedtests are needed to prove the Pro's tethering abilities to me.

I love this friggin phone.

is there a cap on the speeds for bluetooth? Can you tell how much slower?

ran a speed test on my lappy tethered to TP using wimowifirouter today, pulled 1450kbps dowload, 209 kbps up...am cool with that

I got a lot faster once I switched to might.. Im pretty sure thats the telus radio...

I've always gotten 2Mbit speeds, only time it's slower is when I drop to 1X which happens in a few basements. Could just be my area (all the towers here have been upgraded from T1/DSL links to fiber..woot!).

3Mbit/s is the theoretical limit for Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR (which the TP supports). Real world conditions are off--1Mbit-2Mbit.

well just tested mine, at first I got .30mbps download but tested again twice and got this :
