Hard reseting

Has anybody else had trouble hard reseting there phone. I know its hold the down vol button, enter key and then soft reset, but everytime i do that it just soft resets. I know clear storage is basically the same as hard reseting, but I'm just curious as to why I can't hard reset. I was able to get in bootloader mode with no problem.

I've never been able to hard reset my phone that way. I always have to use clear storage.

Re: Hard reseting

It has always worked for me, but I turn my phone off first. Then press volume down, center button, and power and hold all three until I get the prompt to hard reset. Make sure you are pressing in the middle of the center button as well.

I was doing it wrong as well. I think once your phone has been unlocked, you have to have it powered off to do a hard reset as Hafrust mentioned.

Re: Hard reseting

Glad to see other people are in the same boat as me, I thought I was the only one. I wonder if its a problem with certain TP's, I just received mine the other day brand new, so maybe its like that with the fresher batch.

Re: Hard reseting

The correct way to hard reset is to POWER OFF the phone. Press and HOLD vol down/center round button/power button. If done correctly you should get instructions.

The buttons can be a bit of a pain to hold. I have found that if you hold them to hard it won't work and to soft it won't work. Also remember the area around the center button is touch sensative so you need to make sure you are pressing only the center button. It works, your phone is not defective. If it was, those buttons wouldn't work for the intended purposes.

Re: Hard reseting

I will add one more variant which has never failed on any ROM. Doesn't matter if the phone is awake or not.

depress power button, then volume down, Dpad and finally press the reset.
