No Sound when Phone is Ringing

What type of ringers are you using.
Are they default ringers or ones that you downloaded or made?
What format are they in?

This happened to me. No ringers worked. Only system sounds. I would have to set everything to be an alarm. I think a file in my storage card may have been corrupt and corrupted the ringtones the phone came with.

When you go to your music tab, press play, does it not play, but look like the songs are scrolling through but never stopping to play? That's what happened on mine.

We took it back to Best Buy, got a new one, but happened again. I ended up backing up my phone, then doing a hard reset. Formatting my micro card, and reputting all the info on it. Also did a virus scan on it altho it came back empty.

My suggestion is use the HTC Back Up program and/or Dashwire to back up your phone, and hard reset.

The no ring issue is caused by smart dial on your phone which means someting might have gone wrong with the smart dial either when you installed a new dialer or installed something else related to it.
the fix for this would be to reinstall the dialer by using one of the dialer cabs found in this forum either in calkulins thread, or in my thread should be a dialer cab.

I dont believe I've installed any dialers on my phone. My phone decided to do this again today!

When I got to settings, it says that the ringtones are corrupt. I can only play system alarms. Even the factory ringtones are corrupt.

I called Sprint to complain cause this would be the 4th or 5th time i've had to hard reset because of this (cause i dont feel I should have to put my MANY ringtones all in the windows folders - which is where the stock ones are that are corrupt as well anyway).

The guy said I've hard reset it too many times, so it has to be the device. He put in an "E-Ticket", had to go to a Sprint store that is doing repairs - they pulled up the ticket and the guy ordered me a new one. Didn't want to send me to a store for one for fear I may get one out the same batch this one came from.

Yeah I have to wait for about a week. But I still use my Pro I have til then - just had to set all my ringtones to alarms. Rooster sound for texts! Can't get any better!!!

If this happens to anyone again, you get the Audio_manager error, WMP wont even open - call sprint tech support. Ask for the pocket pc division & you should get a new one. If you have insurance like me...no cost baby!!! All 4 years of $7 a month of me never needing my insurance plan has finally paid off!!!

Probably not the cause but make sure under your TF3D Settings menu (the tab!) that your volume isn't down to 0%. Mine was once for some mysterious reason and I couldn't figure out why my ringtones were silent when I could get them to play back in all other programs and settings menus. Often the most obvious solution is the one I overlook.

I mentioned this in an older thread on this same topic But I just experienced this today (about 20 mins go). I think that it had something to do with using the audio out on the phone. I did that today for the first time and shortly after experienced no sound. I only realized it becasue I saw a missed SMS and did not hear an alert. Soft reset cleared it up. Not sure if this is a bug in the software or what but I dont really like the idea of potentially missing important calls and or texts.

EDIT: Ok.. about 20 mins after soft resetting the phone I am having the same issue. Possibly time for a hard reset? The latest piece of software I've installed is stream XM from a thread over at XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450259
