Questions about Video Out

Sorry if these have been covered elsewhere. I have searched and read, but there are so many threads it's a little hard to find an answer.

1) I know I can convert my multi-adapter to do video out by cutting the blue wire. My question is: I have the old ExtUSB to headset adapter from my Mogul. Can I cut the blue wire on that and use it so I don't mess up my multi?
