Ok I am somewhat profficient with my TP now as of customizing and adding applications but i have always wondered what is the differences between custom roms as opposed to the stock rom?

Custom ROM's have certain applications already included in the ROM as opposed to having to install them on a stock ROM.. A custom ROM is basically a stock ROM stripped to the bare, then 'customized' as seen fit by the Cook to fit one's own needs... Most custom ROM's run faster then a stock ROM, but not all are as stable as a stock ROM.. A custom ROM can also have certain hacks and tweaks in it already while a stock ROM will need to be tweaked or hacked... Both type of ROM's are good to use.. To run a custom ROM however, your phone needs to be unlocked...
