Re: Can XV6850 be used in other CDMA countries?
What country are you moving to? Most other countries are GSM. The United States is the only country really that uses CDMA.

Re: Can XV6850 be used in other CDMA countries?
And if you do end up in a country that uses CDMA... guess what, make sure you are the friend with the local carrier because they will give you a RIM (like a SIM but for CDMA), and guess what, there are NO RIM slots on any of the CDMA phones sold in the States.
Only way out? BUY A GSM PHONE if you are going around the world. Or have the local carrier "burn & unlock" the VX6850 for you, which is most likely, well, impossible (but can be done, just ask our friends in China.) |

Re: Can XV6850 be used in other CDMA countries?
It might work, but you will have to flash to a local carriers ROM... Korean CDMA handsets are either 800 MHz (SK Telecom) or 1,700 MHz (LGT and KT Freetel). Only the SK Telecom handsets use the same frequency as used in other countries. 1,700 MHz is only used in Korea... You also run the risk of only being able to pick up one band... And I don't know if Kora has 3G...

I wouldn't try it. And why are you gonna waste cash on the Verizon Touch Pro? You will regret that...

I wonder if they have any kind of prepaid/temp phones you could use? It would be nice to sample their wimax.
