IMAP issues

So after reflashing my phone last night with MightyROM my phone would not let me set up IMAP with gmail. I figured something might have went wrong with the ROM update so today I installed WeaponROM hopeing this would fix the issue. The issue still is there so I do not believe it to be the problem of the modded ROM. Does anyone have any idea why my TP will not let me set up gmail's IMAP. I have also tried setting it up with the automatic settings(POP3) however they would also not work. They just keep telling me to enter my user name and password over and over again. Thanks in advance to any replies. This issue is driving me crazy
