No, it does not... Go here for some pics of the internals...

Re: External port for antenna like the mogul?
If there are no connectors for external antennas on the phone, then what exactly are those antenna connector points on the underside of the PCB directly below the main speaker contacts, and another one at the top left of the PCB, to the left of what looks like a green speaker?
in another thread, the bottom one was ID'd as the external antenna connector for the cellular radio, and the top one was the connector for an external GPS antenna... so if that is the case, what is the name of these little connectors, so that someone could order the right connector from maxmost.com |

Re: External port for antenna like the mogul?
Thank you. Do you or anyone happen to know the thread that the info was posted in. I would rather not open up another line. I bet it will be tough getting to the connection. But probably not impossible. Will probably need some type of flat dongle piece.

Re: External port for antenna like the mogul?
First, the cellular antenna port is not on the bottom of the board near the speaker contacts. It is at the top. The duplexer and filter are located at the top in the shielded rectangle.
There appears to be two RF connectors coming from the duplexer/filter shielded box. On the right of the shielded box(near where the picture says "battery") is most likely a W.FL connector made by Hirose. The generic version is SCMP and a smaller version of the common U.FL. On the left there is another connector and the set of contacts that goes to the internal IMD antenna. Since it appears to be in series with the trace to the internal antenna contacts, This is most likely a RSJ or RSJB (rf switch jack) connector. Which one actually comes to the outside of the phone? I am guessing it is the RSJ one as this is after the final RF switch. As far as where to get the mating parts of these connectors: The W.FL should be available as a pigtail to something else (maybe FME). Try Digikey for this one. The other connector is similar to Gigalane connectors. Some searching for RF switch jack may find something useful. Amphenol and several other companies make a micro rf switch connector. |
