advanced config battery management question

if I change the value from the "Battery resuming from suspend timeout" from 1 second to 10 seconds, is this going to save battery life?

and by changing all the cache system options in the performance section, I noticed the divice is much smoother and doesnt have as much lag, great concept, but will this cause the battery to drain faster?
