SMSRetry.exe in Verizon TPs? SMSRetry service?

I now have a Verizon Touch Pro, in addition to a Sprint Touch Pro and Diamond.

I noticed that there is a "Text Messages Retry" application in the Verizon TP that links to "SMSRetry.exe" in the \windows directory. I presume this is some sort of SMS retry queue.

When I choose "About..." in the application, I see "Text Messages Retry for Pocket PC, Version 2.12, copyright HTC". The app shows four colums, with Message Id, Text Message, Date/Time, and Status.

1) I wonder if this app will work on Sprint devices to resend message that were not sent successfully. I currently have to go to drafts folder to resend manually.

2) I remember reading about a SMSRetry service, but I can't seem to find it running on either of the Sprint devices.

3) I have yet to activate the Verizon TP. How does this application work?

4) If a SMSRetry service exists, how does one acquire and activate it?

I will try running the .exe on the Sprint device tomorrow and see how it goes.
